[Holds on, and settles in for the ride. A little ways in, he just kind of. Leans forward and rests his forehead against her back, like keeping upright is too much effort.]

[Does not seem to take any issue with this. She slows down to something closer to the speed limit, takes a route with minimal bumps and only a few smooth curves.

When they're near the dorm, she pulls off in an alley, looking to see if he can hold tight long enough for her to pick up a few things from inside or if he needs to be horizontal sooner rather than later]

[He's not looking great? But he's still upright, and he flashes her a tired smile and a thumbs up.]

It cool if I wait here?

'Course. I'll be right back, so hold tight, okay?

[Dismounts and hesitates, touches his arm]

...Right back.

Hey, not like I'm gonna run off or nothing.

[Looks away, and heads off to the front entrance]

[He settles in to wait, and it's not super long before he just out and out puts his head down on the handlebars.]

[She's gone for a while--the elevators must have stopped at each floor twice--but eventually trots back with her satchel packed with stuff. As she approaches the bike, she reaches out for his shoulder, light]

Back, finally. Didn't miss beating up any roving gangs of toughs or nothing, did I?

Naw, nothing super exciting.

[He stirs and forces himself upright again, but it is definitely an effort.]

[Slips in in front of him quick so he can lean back if he wants, balancing her satchel in front of her.]

Guess we'll have to save the chills and thrills for later, then. Hopefully you can wait a little longer.

[Cool, cause he is leaning back into her as soon as the support is available. If she's observant, she might notice that he is a little warmer than he was befor - and also, that this cough is long and deep and rattling.]

[When he answers, it's kind of a croak.]

Yeah. M'pretty patient.

[Just works on getting to the hideout. It's pretty close, so doesn't take long--honestly, helping him up the stairs takes longer, but eventually they make it up to the apartment they've claimed and she leaves him to put down the heavy satchel and kick off her boots]

Why don't you change to something more comfortable and warm up the fort?

[He goes to dig out his spare clothes and get changed, but it definitely takes him longer than usual before he makes his way to the fort and kind of flops inside.]

[Puts some water on, and starts digging things out her satchel]

Mm, you prefer grape or cherry?

What, like the actual fruit?

[Busy pulling a mound of blankets over himself.]

[Tosses a bottle of some sort of purple stuff at him]

Cold medicine. Crack that baby open, 'kay? Should help you sound less like warmed-over death.

[Peers at the bottle and shrugs, then shakes it and twists the top until it gives]

[He takes a swig from the bottle - makes a face, and takes another.]

...this stuff's gross, dude.

That's how you know it's good for you. Here, you can wash it down with this.

[Comes over with a bowl of miso soup, still steaming; offers it in exchange for the bottle]

Man, you really went all out.

[Shrugs, arranging the pillows into a better little nest behind him]

'S not the fancy kind or nothing. Not that it won't do the job.

[Ducks his head a little, and leans back against the pillows, careful.]

Looks pretty awesome to me, fancy or no.

Taste it first before you start saying too much.

[Sets the cold medicine just outside the fort and heads back out to check on tea]

That enough blankets? I brought an extra, in case.

[Takes a sip and swallows, with difficulty. It still hurts to get anything down, but the heat's nice on his throat.]

I'll take that blanket, too, if you got it.

You got the electric one plugged in?

[She comes over with an obviously Avante bedspread nevertheless, and drapes it unceremoniously over him--remembers the soup at the last minute and pulls back from going completely over him, letting it go around his waist instead]

...Try to finish that off. Gotta feed a cold, I think.

Forgot to plug in the electric one. Maybe this'll be enough. S'pretty big.

[He takes another sip of soup, careful.]
